UNITING A GENEROUS COMMUNITY
Founded in 2001, The Peninsula Community Foundation (PCF) unites the neighbors of the Peninsula Community in Cornelius, NC. We are an all-volunteer organization that has contributed over $2,500,000 to local charities, making an enormous impact on the communities of North Mecklenburg County.
The PCF has continued to rise to the challenge of meeting the exponentially growing needs of our neighbors in the Lake Norman community. The problems and challenges addressed by our charitable partners are often immediate in nature and require a community effort to fix. The PCF is proud to be part of the solution! By improving the lives of others, we create a better community for us all.
The PCF mission
The mission of the Peninsula Community Foundation is to support and empower the work of nonprofit organizations in the Lake Norman area by providing financial resources and assistance.
OUR APPROACH
EFFECTIVE USE OF RESOURCES
Our Board of Directors carefully evaluates both the needs of the community and the effectiveness of local charities. These factors determine which organizations get funded by the PCF with priority given to those local charities that will best utilize PCF donations to achieve tangible, quantifiable results.
MORE THAN MONEY
Our recipient organizations benefit not only from our financial contribution, but from the direct involvement of PCF Board Members.We work alongside our partner charities to help them improve fundraising efforts, enhance volunteer recruitment, and improve their corporate governance.
